2003 Renault Scenic 2003 scenic auto tranny light

My newly purchased scenic has been making a huge bang noise and then the auto transmission light will come on. The faster im going the louder the bang. It only goes off when I turn off the engine.

The dealers mechanic says its an electrical fault but I just want another opinion. Is itbest to take it to a renault dealer to fix this directly?

Hi there,

there will be a fault code in the ECU, this will give you a better idea as to what the problem is, this may be electrical, but with the banging going on there may be mechanical damage as well, so get this inspected ASAP.
