Transmission problem
2000 Renault Scenic Automatic

Please can someone help? We have an Automatic Renault Scenic 2000 that was making a weird screeching noise when we tried to start it. We took it to a local garage and they replaced the starter motor. This didn't solve the problem and 2 days later it happened again and wouldn't start.

We took it back to the Garage who said that the Flywheel needs replacing but that it was a specialist job and very expensive and that they wouldn't be able to do it.

Any advice on who could fix it, how much it would cost etc?

the fly wheel is not a special part to replace ... but is a time consuming job as the transmission has to be removed first .. most local repair centres will be able to do the job or try a transmission repair centre !!
