1999 Renault Scenic immobiliser

have a customers scenic, its immobilised (light flashes rapidly, crank but no start). Cant get any fault codes out. Have rung renault for advise, they have said that it is the first of the new shape and doesnt have a four digit immob code. Customer has only one key. What do you think the fault may be? Can I repair it without taking it to renault and with only one key? Have tried the basic things, checking transciever position. left key in on position for long periods, disconnected batt etc. Help!

You have no chance of repairing this vehicle without specialist diagnostic equipment. it needs to be plugged into computer and both key and ECU reset to each other .. renault have this tied up i'm afraid .. there are a few independant's out there that can do this but only a few ? which country are you in ? if england whereabout's in england.. i am originally from manchester and do know of a couple ?? also ebay has a few listed
