1998 Renault Scenic bonnet catch stuck

Are there any tips for releasing a seized bonnet? The release lever is behaving as if the bonnet is already open. Dont think the cable has snapped. I think the catch has seized, this has happened before, but pressure released it. Not working this time.

have somebody push down and pull up on the bonnet while you are pulling the relaese lever .. this usually works .. let me know
