over heating

i got a renault clio 1.4 automatic 1994 only 4500 miles , i go up the road and it starts overheating i replace the thermostat and it still does it. i havnt got any smoke coming out the back. is it the head gasket gone? if it is how much will it cost me to replace it ? im frm the uk

check to see if the radiator is clogged, if you are not loosing collant then it seems like a blockage, if you do loose coolant have the system pressure checked.
