1995 Other Renault Models Squeaky fan belt

Hi,
I just put a new ribbed serpentine fan belt on my Renault R19 and tightened it up to specs and it squeals like a pig.
In fact if you loosen it up a bit the noise quietens - but when you tighten it, the noise increases.
Any ideas?

The noise will eventually go away .. you could try cleaning pulley's with a fine sandpaper ..
