2004 Renault Megane Hesitation and smokes

On occations during the drive, there appears to be a flat spot and then the engine feels smooth when you press the accelerator a touch more. When the power returns, there is a small cloud of blue smoke which only last for a couple of seconds. It is a diesel engine and giving me a return of 61 mpg. It idles smoothly and drives well. It has its normal servicing and is not due for its next one for another 6400 miles. It is a 1500cc engine. There are no leaks. The engine starts from cold or hot every time.

does the engine management light show on dash display at anytime ? have the throttle position sensor tested ! add a good fuel injector cleaner to the tank
