2000 Renault Megane Engine Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Manual 100000 miles

My car engine does not respond well at all when I push the accelerator down too far. This is happening in every gear and takes at least a minute to get form 0-40 as I am unable to push the accelerator more than a centimeter. If I do It just over revs and the fuel economy is now disasterous. any ideas?

have the clutch checked and throttle position sensor !
