Transmission problem
1999 Renault Megane 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
The problem I have is that when I start driving with my Megan in the first 5 minutes it shifts speeds fine. But then starts shifting back to second or first. When the car starts warming up after 15 minutes it drives fine.
Someone told me that it was one of the two (bigger ones) solenoid valves that needs to be changed.
But then a Transmission place told me that all the bushings need to be replaced and the manifold needs to be reset with the computer.
I bought the car for 1600 and the repair at the transmission shop is going to cost me 1200. So I would like to know what was true. The car is immaculate and it's a shame to send it to the scrap heap.
I'm trying to find a secondhand box but these are hard to find.
