1999 Renault Megane ABS Warning Light On

Brakes problem
1999 Renault Megane 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

After changing out the drive shaft and wheel bearing, and re-connecting everything as it was before, the ABS warning light is on. Nothing was disturbed or appeared to be broken. Other than replacing the ABS wire--which is quite expensive--what else can I do to check out this fault?

Go to Auto Zone have codes read post numbers. Then have codes erased if light goes and stays out your good.

That would be great advice if I lived in the States but we are in the UK. However I think I may have to take it into a garage and have them do what you suggest. I have already

1) checked the brake fluid level
2) cleaned the ABS sensor and put it back

Neither of which made any difference, light stays on regardless. Any other ideas?
