my starter motor packed up so i got one from a scrap yard i put it on and it started firtst time i then turend it off and started the car again i did it lots of time and the car turned over. then i took it for a spin and when i tuned the engine off the new starter motor had stoped working. why?

recheck all your electriacl connections .. they may have become loose while travelling along the road
