1998 Renault Megane Two Wheel Drive Manual

I have a Renault Megane Capriolet 1.6cc car, I wonder how to fit the catalytic converter. They say I should not use a paste as it can break away as it hardens, so is there any special thing I need to put, or something I should know?

if you are fitting an aftermaket convertor, welding is your best option unless you buy a direct fit which is bolt on using gaskets/sealer
