2005 Renault Laguna electric parking brake

Hi, is there a way of releasing the parking brake to allow fitting of new brake pads on my mk 2 laguna

start the engine .. release the brake by pressing the button .. the immediately press the stop button to cut engine .. the brake should stay off !!
