Electrical problem
2001 Renault Laguna Manual

Hope someone can help. Was unable to open car doors as battry dead. No key as it has a fob and the emergency entry door would not open. Car was jacked up to try and pop bonnet from underneath. Instead a charge was passed via alternator to open doors and therefore bonnet and car charged. Within 200 meters all the dash lights flashed on and dials for speede, rev counter, petol gauge have frozen / stuck. New battery fitted and static discharge done but all guages are still stuck on the dashboard - the actual indicators / wipers still work its just the dash instument panel - has this occured bacasue of passing a charge via the alternator?

There is a key in the flat keyfob for the passenger door? It is most probable you have damaged the control module for the dash display as this would have lit up when you powered up through the alternator. It will have to be read by a dignostic computer with the renault software to diagnose where the actual fault lies?
