Hi there,

The ECU is a control device that is set with set engine run parameters, it sends information to operate correct timing & fuel setting solely on the information gathered from all the sensors, MAP MAF knock sensor, O2 sensor, temp sensors, speed sensors, TPI sensor and what ever else is in the system, so its really a combined effort from all sensors and engine conditions.
