Hi All,

new to the forum and I’ve had a look around and cannot find anything similar that can help me

we have a
RENAULT CLIO ETOILE 16V
2000-2001, 1390cc,
5 door hatchback,
Manual, Petrol

We have a problem that when we are accelerating the power just drops off and need to lift off the accelerator and then slowly press the pedal down to get the power back this does not always work however
we do not have any warning lights coming on and we have had it plugged at a garage and they have said that no fault codes are coming up, it does not have a problem starting at all although the revs are sometime low so have to put foot on the gas. It has recently had a full service as well.

any ideas?

many thanks.

Hello,

the first thing that comes to mind is the fuel pump is getting weak. Can you check the fuel pressure, you can go to the auto parts store and rent the gauge for free.

Here is a guide to give you an idea on how to gt the test done.

Please run this test and get back to us so we can continue helping you.

Cheers, Ken
