2003 Renault Clio Loss of Acceleartion

When I start my Clio it always starts but sometimes it has no revs it just stays on 1000 and does not move when the accelerator pedal is pressed. It will do this a number of times and then all of a sudden it will start up normally. This used to happen once in a blue moon but now it is happening more frequently and can take up to 15 times of turning the engine on and off to be able to drive.

start by having the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic conputer to retrieve any fault codes .. also check/replace the throttle position sensor
