2002 Renault Clio wont start

it has been standing for 7 months now and the battery went dead so i put the battery on off my 1.3 fiesta but it still wont start can you please give me sum advise because when i phoned my local garage he said it should start off that battery and there must be more wrong now.

check you have the battery installed correctly .. check you have reset the immoboliser .. the immo' will automatically come on after battery replacement
