I have a Limited model that will also accept flex fuel. I can see the temperature sensor but I'm not sure how to remove it. Does it require that the starter be removed? Thanks

Hi,

This has a cylinder head temperature sensor. It is mounted on the cylinder head.

I attached the directions below for replacing it. Take a look at the directions and let me know if they help or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

I can see the sensor and even unplug it from the wiring. I just can’t get a wrench or ratchet on it. My question really relates to what should be removed to gain access. I will take another look at it this weekend. Thanks

Hi,

From what I'm seeing, you should have access. Do me a favor. Take a couple of pics of the sensor so I can see what you are faced with. I'm asking because I checked two different manuals and neither of them indicated things being removed other than the sensor.

Let me know.

Joe

Looks like it might require the intake manifold to be removed?

Hi,

Many do require the intake to be removed. However, if I am seeing it in the pics you sent, it looks easily accessible. Am I looking at the correct thing?

Let me know.

I wanted to give you an update and one more pic. The temperature sensor has yellow tape and to its right is the starter. I had to remove the 2 bolts holding the starter in place and move it over to the right. Once the starter was moved, I had the room to get a long socket with extensions over the sensor for an easy removal!

Hi,

Thanks for the update. I'm glad you were able to get it taken care of. I have no idea why things have to be made so difficult to work on anymore, but it must save money with production.

Regardless, thanks again and feel free to come back anytime in the future.

Joe
