Hi, I'm trying to help someone replace the crankshaft pulley. I've tried a breaker bar while trying to wedge something, impact driver but it just spins the belt. There has to be another way. Do you have any suggestions on getting that big nut off? Here is the picture.

Hello,

It is recommended to use a special tool that can help you hold the pulley in place while the bolt gets removed (see attached).
Basically, you want something that will keep the pulley from spinning.
Also, you will need to remove the belt first before attempting to remove the pulley.
It is possible that the bolt is seized on there.

When installing the torque for the bolt needs to be 159 ft-lbs.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you.
