That's what special tools are made for. It sounds like you're referring to the long socket. There's a real good chance you can borrow it from an auto parts store that rents or borrows tools. In my city, they make you buy the tool, then you get a full refund when you take it back. If you decide to keep a tool, you still take it back, then they give you or order you a brand new one.
For your inner tie rod design, the socket will come with five or six crow's foot open-end wrenches. You select the right one to fit your tie rod, slip it on, then slide the socket over it.
