Cannot shift out of park

Just can't get out of park.

Hi,

It sounds like the shift interlock isn't releasing. Lets start easy. First, are the brake lights working? Power from the brake light switch goes to the interlock solenoid to release it to shift.

Check brake lights. Next, if they aren't working, I need you to check the fuse. Also, the shift interlock solenoid fuse should also be tested. I attached a pic below showing fuse number and location. Check these first.

Here are a few links you may find helpful when testing. Also, with the key on, you should hear a slight clicking sound from the shifter area. See if you notice that noise.
