I want to try to clean my wife's bank 1 cat on her vehicle listed above. I just wanted to know if the cat can be removed from the bottom of the car without too many obstructions before I attempt it.

Hello,

You will have to remove the anti-roll bar in order to get that converter out.
I have attached the removal procedure below.

So, are you getting catalytic converter below efficiency codes?
If so let me know what code, you are getting and what you have done so far.
Keep in mind there are other factors that can contribute to that code, besides the converter.

Thank you.

She has a P0420 error code. I took it to a local mechanic, and they informed me it was the bank 1 catalytic converter. The anti-roll bar that needs to be removed is that the one on top of the engine under the battery? I have tried different cleaners with no effect.

That P0420 code can get triggered due to a number of components or reasons.
It could be for having a bad oxygen sensor on bank 1, exhaust leak, engine misfiring, leaking fuel injector, damaged exhaust pipe, EVAP issue, and of course for a bad catalytic converter.

I have attached the diagnostics process for the code below. Following those steps can help you determine the cause.

And yes, there is a brace under the vehicle that will need to be removed in order to get the converter out.
