How to remove airbag and steering wheel to replace clock spring?

I need to remove the airbag and steering wheel to replace the clock spring.

Hello Rick,

The first thing you must do is to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to allow the air bag safety system to disarm, then you will need a special tool which is listed below. Also the clock spring will need to be orientated correct before installation here are the full set of instructions in the images below. Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Thank you very much. Looks like an adventure for sure. Have to get my hands on the tools to remove everything. My biggest fear is the airbag going off. But it sounds like that isn't a problem.

Can you tell me more about the orientation of the clock spring? It seems that it has to be centered in relation to the steering position. Thanks Ken for your help.

The new clock spring will come with a centering pin, just remove it and install, you should be okay.
