On an air conditioning system that has had all parts/components replaced except for the A/C compressor, how should the total amount of refrigerant oil required for the system be added? Should the total amount of refrigerant oil be added entirely to the A/C compressor to be dispersed throughout the system on its own once the system runs or should the refrigerant oil be split up and added to parts of the A/C system individually in specified amounts? The A/C compressor is an FS10. It was oil flushed multiple times and then allowed to drain thoroughly prior to reinstallation. All other parts are new OEM replacements including the evaporator and refrigerant lines. Specified charge level for the AC system is 1 lb 14 oz with 9 oz refrigerant oil. Thanks for any information/guidance you can offer.

Hi,

It sounds like you've done a lot of work. As far as the freon and oil, they are installed at the same place. If you look through this link, it explains how to vacuum down the system and recharge it.

And the entire amount of oil should be added to the compressor. It will be dispersed throughout the system.

I attached what I could find as far as capacity.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
