I bought an A/C compressor and it came with an receiver drier that is a desiccant bag. I can't find where it goes. Does my car have this or something else?

This car is a Coupe.

Hi,

I am not sure that is correct for this application. I show the liquid line has the dryer attached to it so I am not sure why you would just get a dryer with a bag separate. Please see the attached documents. I am just not sure if the dryer is serviced separate. At least the OEM does say it is or provide an option to get one.

Depending on where you got the compressor from, they may have just sent it to you as a general item. Most of these sites don't do the homework and send you only exactly what you need to do the job. They just send things that would be used for this repair in general which causes confusion from the customer because it makes you think you are missing something.

Any time you put a compressor on the vehicle it is a good idea to replace the dryer but it is really only required when the compressor comes about and puts metal in the system. As long as you pull the system down into a vacuum to remove all the moisture from the system after the repair and before you put the Freon back in, you should be okay.
