I just had the rear shocks replaced as the car would make a loose, rattling sound (sounded like coming from rear), when driving on rough street and also if hit very small pothole. It started making this noise about 4-6 weeks ago. My car is well taken care of, oil changed when due, new tires every couple of years, tires rotated and balanced, etc. New brakes front and back just in the past year. The car had approximately 75,000 miles when I bought it 8 years ago. It is a good car and I have not had any problems with.

I picked up the car today and it is so much quieter, however, if it is on one of the rougher streets, it still makes some of that loose rattling noise. Could it be because the new shock are new and stiff or maybe because it is an 11 year old car with 113,000 miles?

Is it possible to get a recording of this noise? It is not uncommon to have a rattling noise on rough roads but clearly if it just started then it may be some rubber bushings are worn out.

Below is a diagram of the rear suspension that we need to check out. I just want to be sure you are not just tuned into the noise now and this has been there but you just never heard it before until the rear shocks started making noise as well.

Please run through this material and let us know if you can get a recording of it and we can go from there. Thanks
