Hello,

My rear main seal is leaking oil. I am pretty handy, but dropping the transmission is a bit beyond my capabilities (and tools). I know prices can vary widely by state/city, but I'm hoping you can give me a general range of how much I should expect to pay to have a mechanic replace the rear main seal. Knowing how many hours the book says would be really helpful as well!

Thanks!
Jon

Hi,

I had to attach two different lists. When I went to rear main oil seal, it indicated 30 minutes "after the transmission is removed."

So, the second pic shows labor to remove and replace the transmission. Note there are additional things that can be added to the time based on optional equipment.

Take a look and let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe
