rear lights will not go out

i own a 1997 acura cl 6 cylinder my rea lights will not go out unless i disconect the positive cable from the battery . i have already checked the brake pedal . i also changed the stop light switch.if my question is answered correctly i will make a donation but i am not about to get ripped off again by a web site .

sorry you feel about getting ripped off is it a bright light like brakes or dimmer? try pulling fuse 32 in underhood fuse box and see if it goes out. that would mean it 's the parking /tail light. if it stays on then try disconnecting brakelight failure sensor in lh side of trunk if none of those fix it then you have wires touching someplace causing your lights to stay on or a bad bulb which could be front or back
