The front heating works fine. It has separate controls for rear heat and it will not get hot.

Good morning,
It sounds like the blend door actuator. I attached the procedure and a picture.
This is a common failure.
I would suggest replacing it.

Thank you for replying. We changed the battery about 4 weeks ago also. But this is the only thing not working as it should. Wonder if they are associated?

I doubt it very much. I would open the panel and command heat and cold and see if it moves the door back and forth.

Thanks for your reply, I’ve priced them for $17.00 to $37.00. Any particular brand you recommend? I’ve seen Dorman and Murray. Is the re-calibration necessary?

No, it will not work correctly. It must be calibrated for it to work properly.
