Harsh grinding noise coming from the rear end?

I have a very harsh grinding type noise coming from the rear when I go over certain bumps while driving slowly.

Yep, this happens when the E brake shoes need to be replaced you will need new brake rotors as well.

So, you don’t think it has anything to do with the differential? Is there any danger with driving it like it is?

Also, it does it when I’m not using the brakes.

Yes, I would not drive it with that sound, it could cause the wheel to lock up, the noise will happen whether you are using the brake or not because the E brake shoes are drugging on the inside of the rotor (drum part) please check out the video I sent you so you can see what I am talking about.
