rear drivers side door stuck closed?

rear drivers side door is stuck closed. I cannot get the door panel off to look at the latch mechanism.

yes you can, it is just a pain to do. remove the screws and then pull door panel or put a screwdriver or small pry tool behind to pull it off then disconnect door handle then check for broken clips inside where door rods connect. see picture.
