Rear Door/End gate won't shut!

After unloading some christmas presents, the back of my Bravada will not shut. The glass portion will open and close fine but the door itself will not latch into the striker pin, I think the latch is stuck suddenly in the lock position not allowing it to grasp around the striker portion and lock itself.
