Rear differential sounds like metal on metal rusty squeaking

That sounds like the backing plate behind the rotor. There is a dust shield to keep out dirt and debris from getting into the area. It sounds like it is too close to the rotor and scraping the rotor surface when you turn the wheel.

I would remove the wheel and inspect it. It may need to be bent back away from the rotor.

Hey thank you so much. I did find that my emergency brake shoe has broken and the thin pad came unattached from the shoe. I was able to break apart the pad and remove it from inside the rotor. What is your best solution on removing the caliper bracket bolts? They are so rusted. If I try to use heat do I heat the bolt or the part that the bolt is screwed in to?

Just heat it up for a couple of minutes. Then use a socket and ratchet to release it.
