Rear defroster switch on but not working. Problem is that turning it on made the dash lights go out. Still working odometer light. Still working headlights and inside overhead light. Light on switch still on. Tried for dash lights with vehicle running and not running.

Hello,

Check fuse #3 which is a 40 amp this supplies power to the systems.

Here is a guide to help you:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Here is a wiring diagram so you can see how the system works and the fuse panel and relay diagrams as well:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-an-electrical-relay-and-wiring-control-circuit

Check out the diagrams (below).

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

Thank you for going the extra mile with diagrams. Unfortunately, were are not able to find a fuse marked #3 nor any fuse that seems to be related to the defroster.

Thank you for your time.

Can you take a picture of your fuse box so we can see which configuration we are dealing with. Please use your phone and upload here to the site so we can see what's going on.
