Rear defrost module

I have pretty much figured out that my rear defrost problems are in the module area. I went to the junkyard today to pick up some other parts and I tried to find a good module. Six parks, Park avenues later and all the n modules in every car was burned up. The question I have is, is the problem in the module or the pigtail? I found one that I kept that seems like the pigtail is more burned up than the module. I opened it up and it doesn't look burned. Ether way what causes them to burn up like that? Don

Okay, so I took the one I got at the junkyard apart. This was the least burnt of all the modules in every PA there. Looking it over the top side where you see the connection prongs looks good (i do see some corrosion on the prongs). The back side has some brown slightly burnt spots. I won't know anything until I try it. But. What do you all think?
I was wondering can I use the output in the input (wiring harness?)
the look the same except color. Snap in and fit perfect. I have extra of the harness and it would be nice to save $20.00 whether I use the one or buy a new module. Thanks Don

That looks bad to me overheated. Can you get a new one or are they obsolete?

Unfortunately, I think you are right. You can buy them but they are rather expensive for what they are. Thanks for your response.

Yep, sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and buy new. Make sure the connections are clean and tight to keep resistance down.
