Is a special tool needed to compress the plunger on the rear caliper when replacing brakes on my GT?

it may be the parking brake is holding it up. if you see two or three small holes or a square you may need a tool to turn piston back into the caliper. the one in picture is a Ford tool however auto parts have these just a bit different.this will show ho to retract the caliper
