Hi,

Is he referring to the flexible brake hose that attaches to the brake caliper? If so, that really isn't hard to do. If you look below, I attached the directions for doing it.

Replacing brake pads, rotors, and a caliper shouldn't be more than a 90-minute job including bleeding.

If you had a caliper that was locked up, a bad rubber hose could have been the cause and not the caliper. Let me know what was happening.

See attached and let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Take care,

Joe

I heard metal against metal for week. Very loud and breaks slow to react. Estimate almost six hundred dollars. Told me right rear caliper was bad, pads and rotors.

Rotors. Did not have enough cash. Friend of friend told me use this. Now my emergency brake doesn't work, rust all over wheel and brakes are loose and sound like clang.

$600.00 to repair the caliper, rotor and pads sounds very reasonable.

Are you still having trouble with the brakes? If they are still metal to metal, that really isn't safe and will progressively get worse.

Replacing the caliper and the brakes pads and rotors are something you could do yourself for around $200.00. Take a look through these links and let me know if you feel comfortable doing it.

It really isn't too difficult to do. I can help you through the procedure. I have videos showing the rear pad and rotor replacement also.

Let me know. Call around a few part stores and get prices for the one caliper and the pads and rotors. I know places like AutoZone sell pads and rotors as a package.

If I can help, let me know.
