Radiator drain plug, what do the prongs do?

The original plug had 2 prongs on the new one doesn't.

Hi,

I'm not sure I know what you are referring to when you say prongs. There are two things that jut out from the plug that are used to remove the plug by hand.

I attached a pic below and circled what I believe you are referring to. Take a look and let me know if that is correct. If it is, that is to remove by hand. If there is something different, could you take a pic and upload it for me to see?
