Hello, I have a 2008 S550, here is the problem. My sound system has a constant clicking noise or popping when using the Radio, When using the phone I can hear the caller, they can not hear me. And my Sirius/XM will not pick up or go to preview channels. My embrace cannot locate the car and when I press the (i) button nothing happens. When I try to go to the audio menu it will not stay on what I select it jumps in and out of that screen.

Sounds like you need to replace the infotainment unit (what used to be the radio). Being it's a Mercedes and 2008 this isn't a simple remove and replace as the unit isn't just a radio. It is VIN tied to the vehicle and controls and stores settings for many other systems. A dealer would be your best bet for replacement because there are at least 2 modules that have to be reprogrammed to allow a replacement unit to operate and even for the car to run after replacement. They will have the proper tools to do the reprogramming and testing of the new system.

I have an S550 2009 with similar issues. Noise, controller is a erratic (won’t stay in menu). Also my telephone mic is not working, I can hear but the other person cannot hear me.
Did you have any luck finding a resolution?

Hello,

It sounds like you have a command controller that is out or fuse # 122 in the rear SAM or #51 in the front SAM. Here is a guide to help you check and the fuse box locations as well as the wiring diagrams so you can see how the command system works:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
