My starter went out and after I changed it, my radio stopped working entirely. I had to disconnect the battery to get to the starter, but everything was hooked back up fine. The only problem is the radio. It doesn't light up or make noise.

You could have had a voltage surge when you connected the battery which popped the fuse. here is a guide help you check the fuse and the radio fuse #9 location as well.
