My Toyota Hiace doesn't start, and turning the key makes the radio noise suppressor by the ignition coil smoke, so presuming that is the problem. Is the suppressor required? Can it be removed, or replaced with a generic part? Having trouble getting one specific.

That is a noise suppressor, and it should work without it, but the radio might have some noise, if so, replace the suppressor with a new one. I believe you can use a generic unit, let me know if you need any more help we are help for you.
