What causes the display to be half grey and the other half dark to black color and you can still listen to the radio using the steering wheel controls. The volume on the radio when turned it goes the opposite of what you want unless you turn it really fast lol

The display driver inside the radio has gone out, which is common, you will need to replace the radio with a rebuilt unit which you can find by searching Google or Ebay. You will need your VIN number so the unit can be programmed, here is how to do the radio replacement in the images below. Check out the images (below).
