radio display not working?

The radio and stereo work perfectly fine, I just can't see the display, for example the time or what radio station I am on

Do you have a CD / cassette combo radio, or does it just have a CD player? Was the display intermittent at first? They usually are. It can go like that for months or years before the defect becomes permanent.
