Is it necessary to drain the radiator of all the fluid when replacing the reservoir?

Hello,

No. Just get the level lower than the hose that goes from the radiator to the reservoir, or plug the end of the hose with a bolt or something. Take the bolt out when done and reattach the hose. In the diagrams down below I have included the instructions for the removal and installation of the overflow reservoir for your vehicle. It does call for the draining of the coolant, but like I said, just drain so that the coolant level is below the hose and you should be fine.

Thanks,
Alex
