Overheating and antifreeze is leaking

My truck is over heating, and anti freeze is linking out slow on the ground. how can I tell if it is only a link thermostat or head gasket?

The first thing you need to do is locate the leak. If the coolant is getting low, it will cause it to overheat. Take a look through these links.

Now, the easiest way to find a leak is by performing a pressure test. You will need a pressure tool to do it. Most parts stores will lend or rent one to you. Here is a link that shows how to perform that test:

The reason I recommend locating the leak first is simply because it could be something as simple as a loose hose. On the other hand, a bad water pump can leak too.
