My radiator not holding water but not mixing with my oil or leaking out. What could it be and what do I need to do?

Hi,

Is there any evidence of coolant on the ground after the vehicle sits over night? Is there any white smoke from the exhaust when the vehicle is running?

It could be from a number of different things. If you are seeing white smoke from the exhaust, there is a chance coolant is getting into the combustion chamber. When it burns with the fuel, it produces a white smoke out the exhaust.

Take a look at this link. It explains how to check for a bad head gasket.

If you are seeing any evidence under the vehicle, take a look through this link and see if it helps:

Let me know if the links help. Also, let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

None on the ground. I do know when it ran hot on me that it filled my reservoir to the road. Far as white smoke not to sure on that. But it not running bad or making no funny noise when running just hot.

Hi,

The hoses temperature is common. Is the vehicle overheating now? Also, pay attention to see if there is excessive white smoke from the exhaust. Also, let me know how much coolant you are using. Also, check to see if there is evidence of coolant mixing with the oil.

Let me know what you find.
