The jack slipped and broke the rack and pinion, and the car couldn’t start anymore making a clicking sound like the starter is bad. The starter still looks good. I replaced the rack and pinion but still had the same problem.

Probably broke the starter housing, which is difficult to see, can you upload a short video of the noise or what is it doing so I can see? If the starter solenoid is getting power in the crank position the starter is bad.

This guide can help us:

Here is the starter wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works as well. Please go over this video as well. Can I ask if the security light is flashing?

Here is how to change out the starter motor, start by disconnecting the battery. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Thanks for the video, are you leaving the key on when the dash lights go out? I can't tell what the key is doing? Nor could I see the security light.

Yes, I’m leaving the key on when the dash light goes out. When the jack slipped the alarm did go off multiple times I forgot to add.

There must be some kind of computer damage, we need to do a CAN scan to see what codes come up, this is not a regulator engine or drivetrain scan. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

I have seen the human interface module go out in these cars FYI. Please go over this guide and get back to us.

The jack slipped and broke the rack and pinion. The car alarm started going off multiple times. The car will not start anymore. It makes no noise when you turn the key. I replaced the rack and pinion but it’s still the same problem.

Hmm, it sounds like the battery could be bad, I would remove it and take it to the auto parts store for testing. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
