My rack and pinion is leaking and my mechanic says to purchase a service kit. My question is, are these specific to right hand or left hand drive vehicles or as the kits are just seal set are they generic?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

To the best of my knowledge, they should be the same. The housing is different, but the components should be the same.

Now, if you are paying labor to have it rebuilt, you may want to consider just getting a new one or rebuilt one. It will most likely cost the same when you consider the labor to rebuild the old one. Also, most rebuilds don't last too long.

It's just a thought. Let me know if you have questions.

Take care,
Joe
