Just changed my rack and pinion when I took it for the alignment, they said it’s due to the rack and pinion not being center. Why would the rack and pinion make a rubbing noise for not being on center. How would I fix it?

Hi,

I'm not when you hear the noise and its sound. I can say the steering joint could be hitting, the steering shaft cover could be misaligned, and so on.

I attached the installation directions below for the rack and pinion. Take a look through them and see if there is anything that may have been missed.

Let me know.

Joe
